I am angry and I am nervous.

Americans must understand that Trump just assassinated the second-most powerful man in Iran—presumed by many to be Iran’s next leader. Yes, he was a despicable human, but US response was an entirely disproportionate, reckless unilateral escalation that could have drastic and unforeseen consequences across the Middle East. Does the US government have a plan? Trump spent the last 3 years hollowing out the diplomatic corps, undermining military commanders, and denigrating intelligence agencies.

God help us all. And, thank you for the big red target on our backs.
